Helping a sports betting organisation develop and launch a new app for the UK market
The Challenge
Our client was in the process of developing a new app for the online sports betting and casino market and needed to test the usability of the app across a number of different user journey. These ranged from early experiences of downloading and registering, through to odds checking, placing bets and in play betting.
Our Approach
Bryter conducted a two phase qualitative approach comprised of Expert Review and Consumer Testing.
The initial expert review stage involved members of the Bryter research team downloading and stress testing the app through various user tests and journeys to identify any obvious flaws or bugs in the design.
This was followed by a series of n=20 x 45 minutes in depth interviews carried out in a UX lab, with active online gamblers interested in sports betting.
The Outcome
Our research identified 6 key areas for improvement to the app across Casino, Deposit, Match navigation, coupons, in play bets and Scorecast - resulting in a number of major and minor fixes to the app’s design and functionality.
